Most corporate golf days end up as just another round of golf. Everyone has a nice day out, nobody can remember who won by Monday, and the business struggles to say what it actually got for the money.
Meanwhile, whoever got landed with organising it has spent weeks chasing teams, venues and prize suppliers on top of their actual job.
That's the gap Fairways For Good was set up to fill, and this blog is where we'll share what we've learned about running golf days people remember.
Who we are
I'm Ben, and I started FFG. I spent a decade in tech sales, and when my daughter was born I took some time out, fully planning to go back. I started working in golf in the meantime, ended up loving it, and spotted a gap: golf days that were great fun to play in, hard work to organise, and forgotten far too quickly.
So now we run them end to end. You pick a date and bring your teams, and we handle everything else, from branded tee boxes and live scoring to the bar cart, the prizes and the auction. It typically costs less than a table at your industry awards, and the admin is all ours.
What you'll find here
- Planning advice for anyone who's been handed “sort the golf day” on top of everything else
- Fundraising ideas that actually raise money on the day
- What to do when half your guest list doesn't play golf
- Help for charities thinking about a golf day but without an events team
- A look at how our days come together, and what we've learned along the way
No fluff, and no 2,000 word essays on grip pressure. Just useful stuff from people who run golf days for a living.
The bit we're most proud of
Every FFG day has a charitable donation built in, and each one raises thousands for a good cause. We're on a mission to raise £1,000,000 for good causes by 2030.
That's what gets us out of bed, though we'll try not to bang on about it in every post.
